Michelle Keegan reveals she regrets stripping off for sexy photoshoots as she hits back at marriage split rumours

MICHELLE Keegan has revealed how she regrets stripping off for sexy photoshoots when she was first starting out in her career.

The 33-year-old actress also hit back at split rumours that plague her marriage to Mark Wright.

Speaking to the August issue of Cosmopolitan UK she revealed how she wishes she hadn't done lads mags when she was younger, saying: "It wasn’t something that I necessarily really wanted to do. I remember feeling very shy because I was really young.

"But I thought it came as part of being on TV. Now that I’m older, I realise that it is OK to say no to something that you don’t feel 100% happy with.

"You don’t have to do it because you think you have to do it."

She added: "But I will say, this is no reflection on Coronation Street.

"I had a brilliant network and team and the PR team were fabulous and really looked after me and it was a different time back then. Everyone did it at that time."

Michelle also talked about having to deal with constant rumours that her marriage to Mark is in trouble, saying: "If you go away for work it’s seen as a negative and not a positive.

"I just don’t understand that and find it hard. You’re trying to carve yourself a career and people say you shouldn’t be doing it because it impacts your marriage. It’s ridiculous.

"That can be quite difficult because it’s hard enough being away from home as it is without negative stories. A few years ago it would have bothered me more than it does now."

Meanwhile, last month The Sun exclusively revealed how Michelle and Mark have become the richest young couple on telly earning over £2.6 million between them in the last year.

Michelle has raked in well over £4 million since quitting Corrie – 66 times her original soap salary of £60,000-a-year for playing Weatherfield's glamour girl Tina McIntyre.

She quit the show in 2014 and the hard-working star’s firm Rosia Promotions Limited cleared another £1.2 million in 2019 to add to the cash deposits in her company account.

The outfit now is £1.7 million in cash in its coffers – that’s with costs, tax and dividends for the year taken out.

She registered her first million three years after leaving the show and hasn’t looked back since.

Meanwhile, husband Mark's company The Wright Looks had reserves of £1,134,776 last year, again, his best ever tally.

The record profits mean they had a combined worth in 2019 of £2,637,820, which blows other TV pairs out of the water.
