Our Yorkshire Farm will be returning to Channel 5 soon and viewers are keen to see more of The Yorkshire Shepherdess and her family. Amanda Owen has been keeping fans in the loop with the family’s move to Anty Johns, not far from Ravenseat Farm. Express.co.uk has all you need to know on how this will impact stays at The Firs.
Can you still stay at Amanda Owen’s home The Firs?
Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has continued to provide insight into the lives of the couple and their children as they live and work at Ravenseat.
Earlier in the year, Amanda revealed they would be moving from their rented accommodation to a farmhouse in Anty Johns.
She and her husband Clive were keen to set down their own roots and secure a future for their children.
The tough decision involved them having to completely renovate their new farmhouse, as it had not been lived in for years.
With no water or electricity, they had a tough challenge ahead of them, but work on their new home is almost complete.
This means they will be saying goodbye to The Firs, their 17th-century farmhouse.
Speaking to The Home Page, Amanda said the family had purchased the farmhouse as a more permanent residence.
She said: “You feel very temporary, like we’re just part of the bigger story before it’s passed on to someone else.”
The Firs has been used as a holiday home for visitors, as it provides the perfect rural retreat for families.
The house includes six bedrooms and many of the original features.
Currently, due to the restrictions posed by the coronavirus, accommodation bookings are not being taken.
This is according to The Yorkshire Shepherdess website at the time of writing.
With regards to whether the house will continue to be rented out after the move, fans will have to keep an eye on the website for further details.
The website adds: “A stay at The Firs is your chance to get away from it all and really escape to the country.
“If you do need to access your phone or the internet during your stay, then a 15-minute drive towards Kirkby Stephen will get you to an area with signal, and many of the pubs and cafes in the area do have Wi-Fi.
“Whether you wish to spend time exploring the Dales or just want peace and quiet off the beaten track then the Firs will not disappoint.”
More information about the family’s move should come to light in the new series of Our Yorkshire Farm on Channel 5.
The series is currently on a hiatus but is expected to return before the end of 2021.
Fans have already taken to Twitter to ask when The Firs will be available to rent again.
One said: “Amanda may I ask when you are thinking of opening up the Shepherds hut or the Firs please.
“We are up in Nth Yorkshire in June & would love 2 spend a night or two up at Ravenseat.” [Sic]
Amanda has not yet provided an official response to the query, although they are currently busy with the move.
The shepherdess has been keeping fans up to date with her latest ventures on Instagram.
She shared photos of her children picking mushrooms and venturing out with their pony.
One fan said: “Love them, going to try and persuade hubby to take me your farm for afternoon tea.” [Sic]
Our Yorkshire Farm is available to watch on My5.
