Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) did what she does best in EastEnders, as she took control of Vinny’s (Shiv Jalota) attack on Martin Fowler (James Bye) and expertly covered up the crime.
Vinny offered Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) the opportunity to sort her financial difficulties via an insurance job at the club, and in spite of her initial concern, she agreed to do things his way.
He carried out the insurance job in Thursday’s episode (September 10), but little did he know that Martin would get involved, and — having no idea that Ruby was in on the plan — he chased Vinny and cornered him in the Minute Mart.
Vinny panicked and hit the former fruit-and-veg trader with a fire extinguisher, and in tonight’s episode (September 11), he worried that he’d killed him.
He called Jags (Amar Adatia) for assistance, but he was taken aback when Suki arrived.
Being the master manipulator that she is, Suki wasted little time in taking control of the situation, as she attempted to stage a botched robbery, and therefore had Jags get rid of the CCTV.
After successfully setting the scene, she called for an ambulance — delivering a compelling performance to the person on the other end of the phone.
Jags was concerned that they’d left Martin too long before calling for help, but the paramedics soon arrived and took the young man to the hospital.
Ruby came to realise what had happened, and thus feared the worst, while Suki made Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) lie to the police about Vinny being with her all the day.
The question is: will the Panesars successfully get away with the crime?
What’s more, will Martin live?
