STRICTLY Come Dancing star Helen Skelton has revealed her surprise link to one of the judges on the BBC One competition.

The former Blue Peter star – who is set to take to the dance floor for the first time this weekend – admitted that she sometimes plays golf with Anton Du Beke.

Helen, 39, joked that she would give her pal and pro dancer Anton, 56, who is joining the judging panel this series, a "big stick" if he says something bad about her dancing.

Speaking to New! magazine, the mother-of-three – who took part in the Christmas Special – admitted they play sport together.

"I've played a lot of golf with Anton so he knows I can hit him with a big stick if he says something," Helen joked.

"When I did the Christmas special, when you get the critique you don't hear it, you're just so glad that it's over."
