SUNDAY Brunch was thrown into chaos as Alex James took a "big chunk" out of his finger and hand – leaving him covered in BLOOD.
The singer was forced to step back from the kitchen on the popular Channel 4 show after injuring his hand during his segment.
Musician Alex, 53, who rose to fame as the bassist of Blur, was joined by show hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer in the kitchen.
He stepped in to help on Sunday Brunch as they made steak with a blue cheese topping before suffering a painful accident with a knife.
Shortly into the show, Alex was seen only using his right hand as he held a bandage around his left hand, which was covered in blood.
Alex was seen laughing off the incident as chef Simon, 59, worked around him – keeping out the way of his bloody finger.

It comes after viewers were left complaining about presenters Simon and Tim, calling them both "annoying" for standing far apart.
Guests Romesh Ranganathan, Ellie White, Prasanna Puwanarajah and Tinie Tempah were all placed a few feet apart on their table, and its presenters also stayed a meter or so apart throughout.
This rule was hilariously broken only moments into the show, when a late Tinie ran onto the set and shook hands with everyone, only to be told it wasn't allowed.
