THE Handmaid's Tale fans all had the same complaint with the long-awaited season four premiere last night.
The hit drama returned to Channel 4 on Sunday evening after two years away from our screens.
While fans were excited to see what happened to June (Elisabeth Moss) in the aftermath of the dramatic season three finale, they quickly became annoyed by the amount of adverts interrupting proceedings.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Channel 4 must of paid some serious cash for #HandmaidsTale but they giving it a good go at regaining the money with the f***in adverts. #toomuch. I’d rather 1 longer break. way too much stop/start."
Another added: "Forgot how good the #HandmaidsTale soundtrack is. Great drama but too many adverts interrupting the flow of the story."
A third tweeted: "HandmaidsTale absolutely unwatchable on @Channel4
with the adverts, will be waiting until it’s released on Amazon Prime. Thanks for ruining it."
Meanwhile a fellow viewer was equally annoyed, writing: "#HandmaidsTale is being ruined by so many adverts. More a case of ‘Blessed be the advert revenue’."
The latest instalment is set almost two years since June pulled off her most dramatic victory yet against Gilead, freeing 86 children.
Shot in the shuffle to escape, June finds herself back within the grasps of the regime, while Serena and Fred Waterford deal with their crimes outside in Canada.
Packed with drama, horrifying scenes saw a young wife called Esther Keys handed the knife to put to death the "traitor" who repeatedly raped her.
Viewers took to Twitter to discuss the "brutal" show and series opener.
"Dark and depressive, really twisted, but already addicted," one viewer wrote as a second agreed: "Dark but brilliant."
A third chimed in: "I don't know if I've ever seen a TV show more disturbing than the Handmaid's Tale."
The Handmaid's Tale continues on Sunday, June 27 at 9pm on Channel 4.
