The panel women also noted that they don’t believe for a second that Haley isn’t planning a run for the White House
The hosts of “The View” took aim at South Carolina Republican Nikki Haley on Wednesday, blasting her criticisms of the Democratic party, and her apparent renewed allegiance to Donald Trump. For host Joy Behar, Haley’s comments place her at the same level of depravity as politicians like Ted Cruz and more.
The panel kicked off their discussion of Haley by first playing back her comments at the Reagan Foundation on Tuesday. In her remarks, Haley claimed that “today’s Democrats don’t even believe in America,” because they “routinely accuse America of systemic racism.”
“The left is feeding them a false narrative about our country, and more often than not, it’s all they hear,” Haley said.
Host Whoopi Goldberg keyed into that line immediately, mocking Haley and saying “It’s so funny when you talk about a false narrative.” Whoopi’s comments were, of course, in reference to the multiple GOP leaders and representatives that have continually pushed Trump’s lies that the 2020 election was stolen.
Goldberg didn’t elaborate further right away, so Joy Behar jumped in with her thoughts.
“She’s got some nerve,” Behar said. “She’s no better than Ted Cruz and that other guy, what’s his name? Well Lindsey [Graham], I don’t know what’s going on with him. Marco Rubio, Josh Hawley, all of them. She’s in the same basket, do not vote for her.”
Behar’s final comment came in reference to the fact that Haley is on the GOP shortlist for potential presidential candidates in 2024.
On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that though Haley disagrees that the 2020 election was stolen, she still considers Trump a friend — despite saying in 2016 that he was “everything a governor doesn’t want in a president” — and would consult with him before embarking on a White House bid. But the hosts of “The View” don’t buy that either.
“Oh you’re gonna run. See, that’s the thing,” Whoopi said sardonically. “You’re not fooling anybody Nikki Haley!”
The women agreed with Sunny Hostin’s comments that Haley has “shown no character.”
“She’s a politician in the worst sense, I think,” Hostin added.
