Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) is stuck between a rock and a hard place in Coronation Street.
In the ITV soap’s most recent episode, viewers finally learnt more about the iconic character’s life since he left Weatherfield, confirming he is now working as an undercover cop.
When Spider met up with DS Swain (Vicky Myers), who is investigating Imran’s (Charlie de Melo) murder, she told him to gather extra information on Toyah (Georgia Taylor), hoping to find out whether she did crash her car with the intention of killing her husband.
Tonight, spending time with baby Alfie was the catalyst for Toyah’s emotions spilling over, as she felt incredibly guilty for taking Alfie’s father from him.
After Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) spotted a tearful Toyah, she relayed the concern to Leanne (Jane Danson).
It was Spider who found his friend and comforted her back at the flat, but the last thing Toyah wanted to do was sit and calm down.
A shaking, panicked Toyah told Spider the truth about Imran’s final moments, revealing that she did indeed want to kill him after she learnt all about his betrayal and lies.
As Leanne entered, Spider left, refusing to listen to Toyah.
While Toyah explained to Leanne that for a split second, she wanted Imran dead, Spider was in Victoria Garden, contemplating what to do next.
Spider now has a problem on his hands.
Does he risk his career by failing to tell DS Swain key information ahead of Toyah’s trial?
Or put Toyah’s future in jeopardy by telling the police she did want to murder Imran?
