DOLLY Parton, who has amassed a fanbase of millions over her career, has a large Southern family.
The superstar country singer announced on January 21 that her brother Randy tragically passed away at the age of 67 after battling cancer.
What is Dolly Parton's family background?
Born to Robert and Avie Lee Parton, the Parton's grew up near the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee's Sevier County.
The family had next to nothing back then and lived but what they did have was a passion for music, instilled in them by their mother, who always encouraged them to sing at home and at church.
"Singing was like breathing at home," Dolly's sister Rachel told People back in 1982.
They lived in a small cabin where they slept six to a bed.
How many sibings doe she have?
So Dolly is one of twelve, meaning she has 11 brothers and sisters.
In order of birth, the six boys and six girls were named Willadeene, David Wilburn, Coy Denver, Dolly Rebecca, Bobby Lee, Stella Mae, Cassie Nan, Randel Huston “Randy,” Larry Gerald, Estel Floyd, and twins Freida Estelle and Rachel Ann.
Sadly, three of Dolly's brothers passed away over the years.
Larry Parton died just four days after his birth in 1955, according to a 2015 Fox News segment.

Her brother Randy was just 67 years old at the time of his passing in January 2021.
Willadeene is the oldest of the Parton children and is 79.
She didn't pursue a career in music but she did write the family memoir.
Smoky Mountain Memories: Stories from the Hearts of the Parton Family was released in 1996.

She is younger than her sister Dolly by three years.
Her biggest hit is I Want To Hold You In My Dreams, which was released in 1975.

Cassie Parton, 68, and Freida Parton, 62, are also talented singers.
Cassie performed in the Dollywood show, My People, in 2013 with her brother Randy, 65.
Freida no longer performs but was in a punk band in the 1980s and singing back-up on some of Dolly's albums.
Parton fans will also remember Dolly's famous younger sister, Rachel Parton Dennison, 60, who starred in the ABC sitcom 9 to 5 from 1982 to 1988.
In 2014, she performed with Dolly and Stella at the Red Tent Women's Conference in Tennessee.
