Fans were aghast when Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) found Kurt Benson (Jeremy Edwards) standing in the Hutch last week.
They were shocked because Kurt is dead. Very dead.
Kurt was killed off in a jet-ski accident in 1999, so how can he be standing in a restaurant 22 years later?
This is Hollyoaks, the perfect mix of teen drama and soap opera where anything could happen (remember the bus that crashed into a wedding reception?)
Who is Kurt Benson in Hollyoaks?
For newer viewers, the big reveal last week may have been lost on you if you don’t know who Kurt Benson is.
Kurt Benson is the son of Kirk Benson (James Quinn) and Juliette Benson (Martine Brown), he was also the husband of Ruth Osbourne (Terri Dwyer).
Kurt has had a feud with Rob Hawthorn (Warren Derosa) for years, stemming back to when he accidentally killed Kurt’s girlfriend Natasha Anderson (Shebah Ronay).
Kurt tried to kill Rob a total of four times, and in return Rob tried to kill Kurt.
Rob claimed to have caused Kurt’s fatal jet-ski crash in 1999, but this was later proven false.
How is Kurt Benson alive again?
It is currently unclear how Kurt is alive again.
Is he really there? Is he a hallucination?
Perhaps he was washed out to sea and was rescued, but then that begs the question: who’s body did they bury 22 years ago?
All will be revealed tonight…
Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30 pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4.
