KENDALL Jenner is facing criticism after she was featured in an advertisement for her new tequila brand, 818.
The reality star announced the launch of the alcohol product earlier this year.

Kendall Jenner was slammed and accused of “cultural appropriation” after she appeared in a commercial and ad photos for her new tequila brand.
She is seen walking through fields and holding a glass of her tequila while smiling and posing with a horse.
Workers in the field appear as well.
“Having workers in the fields while you’re on your horse looking down on them as if you own them. Disgusting and tone deaf," one person wrote on social media.
Another wrote: “Am I the only Mexican that thinks @KendallJenner's acting hella colonizer with her new @818Tequila ad? Very very cultural appropriated vibes with that."
Someone complained on Twitter: "kendall even deactivated the comments on her IG post because she knows we are coming after her. STOP CULTURAL APPROBATING THEN IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET CALLED OUT.”
Another fan wrote: “Wtf is this commercial. Insulting and offensive @KendallJenner did you not learn from your Pepsi fiasco?"
The users calling out Kendall’s bad track record with commercials were referencing her 2017 Pepsi ad, which was pulled by the beverage company after the ad was accused of making light of Black Lives Matter.
On Instagram Kendall shared some of the tequila 818 snaps, as well as a short video of her hanging out on the fields, writing: “What an incredible experience i have had thus far, learning about this beautiful place, it’s beautiful culture, and the beautiful people!"
The number 818 is the area code for the San Fernando Valley, where Calabasas, the neighborhood Kendall grew up in, is located.
Where is the tequila produced?
The tequila is hand-crafted on an agave farm in Jalisco, México.
The reality star's tequila comes from a distillery that is used by many brands.
"Basically they just make barrels and barrels and barrels of tequila, and celebrities come in and literally pick a barrel," tequila expert Lucas Assis told InStyle.
"So there might be a little bit of a difference [between brands], like this one is aged in French oak and this one is aged in American oak.
"But essentially, it's exactly the same bottle, and the celebrity just buys that, and then they just use their marketing and their branding to sell it to you.
"What you're paying for is the celebrity affiliation, and not the quality of tequila."
