Woman discovers scary crawl spaces and secret passages hidden in her rented home

Well, this is a bit horrifying.

Jaclyn Williams, 29, from the US, works for a private asset company and is currently renting a home with her husband, Jay, and their son.

The family have lived in the house for two months, having moved in without actually seeing the house in person.

But soon after getting settled in, Jaclyn noticed something was ‘off’ about the house. Nothing major, just a strange sense that things weren’t quite right.

So she decided to have a bit of an explore, documenting the whole thing in TikTok.

What she discovered is more than a little disturbing: secret passages around the property and a secret crawl space above the staircase.

As you’d expect, video of this discovery has received a lot of attention, with one person commenting that the home is ‘perfect for serial killers’.

In the videos, Jaclyn opens a window next to the staircase and finds an empty room, littered with dry leaves.

There’s a door in the room that Jaclyn reckons leads into the garage, but she’s not ready to explore it just yet.

In her other TikTok videos, Jaclyn revealed several other crawl spaces all over the home and narrow passageways containing strange items – including an orange Converse shoe.

Jaclyn revealed that the house was built in 1959 and she has found several strange quirks alongside the passages, such as backwards light switches, a safe room, wires hanging out of most walls and 16 working security cameras.

Inside some of the secret passages are bits of rubbish, too.

Jaclyn said: ‘My husband told me during the walk through the owner mentioned a crawl space between the first and second floor.

‘This obviously peaked my interest as I had never heard of such a thing.

‘I went up to the loft and sure enough there was a tiny door leading to another tiny door, overlooking the below bedroom.

‘I was shocked and sort of laughed it off, it definitely became a conversation point for a bit.

‘One day I thought it would be an interesting TikTok and made the original “things in my rental home that just don’t make sense” video of the main crawl space, which of course led me to eventually crawling inside and exploring more.

‘There’s a lot of old receipts dating back to 2004, creepy writing on the wall, such as “I heart Colleens body”, thumb tacks lining the whole crawl space wall, a random shoe that was honestly there when I moved in, an old United States Tennis Association badge, and some things I haven’t been able to identify yet.’

Jaclyn now plans to call the landlord and ask more about the house’s history.

A smart move, but we’d just pack our things and run.

‘I only know the house’s history from 1985 to present as being owned by the same family,’ she said.

‘I would love to know more about it though.

‘The most frequent comments are “it’s the Coraline house”, “girl move”, and “that house gives me the chills”.

‘There has been a lot of theories in the comments as well, such as people trying to solve cold case murders, there’s someone living in the walls watching me, it’s a cat hall, and that the house is haunted.

‘The most interesting comment I’ve seen is that there’s been a lot of people claiming they have or had dreams about the house.

‘I really have no clue what the crawl spaces are for.

‘One space is normal but there’s so many of them that it makes one question why.

‘I have more to explore so who knows what we have yet to find!’
