Fans are still waiting for the long awaited return of Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama Yellowstone following the horrific conclusion of last year’s third season finale. With new episodes now hoped to hit Paramount in August, could Chief Thomas Rainwater (played by Gil Birmingham) be set for a crushing betrayal in the next instalment?

Angela Blue Thunder (Q’orianka Kilcher) could be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming fourth season of Paramount’s popular crime drama, Yellowstone.

Taylor Sheridan’s modern Western saga is hoped to pick up the story very soon after someone targeted John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and his family at the end of season three.

In season three, Angela is brought in by one of John’s biggest rivals, Chief Rainwater, to help improve the Broken Rock Indian Reservation.

However, following her dynamic debut in the series last year, fans quickly singled her out as another potential threat to the Yellowstone ranch.

Her take-no-prisoners attitude towards her work and the Duttons’ land seems to make it clear that she has some ulterior motives which could be revealed in the upcoming season.

With Rainwater and John Dutton still under ceasefire, and the family recovering from a brutal series of attacks, Angela could take this perfect opportunity to go after the ranch herself.

Some fans recently took their speculation to Reddit when one viewer proposed she could eventually start calling the shots for Rainwater.

User boots_and_bullets posted: “Rainwater is a sap…trying to play both sides, where Angela is ready for war.”

Although this Yellowstone fan was unconvinced if Angela had anything to do with the assassination attempts against the Duttons, they’re certain she’ll have a crucial role in the series going ahead.

They went on: “Though she is an attorney, I still can’t see where she would have the money to set up the attacks.

“She’s a piece of the puzzle that Taylor is holding onto for future episodes.”

While this viewer named Angela as one of their favourite new characters for the series, others weren’t so sure after she appeared in just four episodes of season three.

Even so, their apprehension towards the character only manage to fuel more theories that she could turn against her boss and become much more of a threat for the Duttons going ahead.

Another Redditor argued: “The whole meeting in S3E10, she acts so pompous, and acts like she’s so cool, and then just gets up and leaves the meeting.”

But, they also suggested: “She also gives off a vibe that she’s going to be a huge backstabber and because of that I don’t think she’ll make it far.”

Angela has certainly proved herself to be a self-serving and arrogant new addition to the Broken Rock Reservation’s team, and undoubtedly has her own motives in mind.

Whether or not she intends to make her own play against the Duttons remains to be seen, as she’s currently not high up on any one’s list of suspects for the attacks in the finale.

Moreover, Angela will have the rest of Broken Rock to answer to if she does decide to turn around and betray Rainwater for her own benefit.

Regardless, Yellowstone has kept fans on their toes throughout the first three seasons, so they shouldn’t be surprised if this relatively minor character comes back with a vengeance when the show returns.

Yellowstone season 4 will premiere in 2021 on Paramount.
