Hospital forced to lockdown as 'knifeman Tasered by cops'

A KNIFEMAN is said to have been Tasered by cops outside a hospital today.

Witnesses said a man armed with a knife arrived at the Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital in Kent this morning.

Reports suggest the hospital was locked down with patients and staff being stuck inside.

Cops rushed to the Memorial Medical Centre – a part of the hospital – and disarmed the man.

A source told Kent Online: “I heard he had to be Tasered by police.”

A spokesman for Kent Community Health Foundation Trust told the website: "Sittingbourne Minor Injury Unit (MIU) opened later than planned this morning due to an incident at the GP surgery on site.

"The MIU is now open and ready to see patients."

The Sun Online has contacted Kent Police for comment.
