HUNDREDS of travellers have descended on Wickham for the annual horse fair today.
The event near Fareham is expected to draw crowds of more than 1,000 people, with the Wickham Square closed yesterday in preparation for the event.
The event dates back to the year 1269 and has been running for almost 800 years.
It is one of two highlights of the horse-riding calendar along with Appleby Horse Fair in June.
The fair will see people from the travelling community sell horses and take part in the horse run while other members of the family can enjoy the mark stalls.
People were spotted drinking and and socialising in the town which attracts a large crowd each year.
