Joe Biden and President Trump on Tuesday evening were in a virtual dead heat in Florida — a must-win state for Trump that helped carry him to victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016.
With more than 80 percent of precincts reporting in the Sunshine State, Biden and Trump were practically tied.
Biden was pulling ahead in traditional Democratic territory in southern Florida and in swing areas that cover the city of Jacksonville, Tampa and Orlando, according to the data.
The panhandle of Florida, which typically leans Republican, had not yet reported.
The swing state has 29 electoral votes at stake.
Without repeating a win in Florida, Trump’s path to the White House narrows against Biden.
