Mum's tribute to daughter 'taken by angels' after girl, 6, hit and killed by car as she walked with dad

A HEARTBROKEN mum has paid a touching tribute to her six-year-old daughter after she was killed by a car as she walked with her dad.

Sharlotte Naglis died after she was hit by a car in the village of Norton Green, Stoke-on-Trent at around 7.15pm on June 19.

Emergency responders battled to save her but the little girl was later declared dead.

Mum Claire said an appeal had been set up so they could give her a “dream send-off”.

Her appeal says: "To anybody that wants to help live up to Sharlotte's legacy and dream please can you help find some money or something so Sharlotte can go out in the style she always asked for before the angels took her."

Sharlotte’s family issued a heartfelt statement yesterday, saying their happy daughter had been “full of life” and “always smiling”.

It said: "Sharlotte was so beautiful, full of life, always smiling, sassy, so brave and happy.

"Sharlotte just started her gymnastics classes which she loved and was shining so bright in.

"She was loved by everyone that met her, so caring and loving.

"Every night since she was born she would never sleep without holding her mum’s hand.

"There will never be another child like her for anyone who met her.

"She was taken so early from us and will never be forgotten."

Cops have issued an appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward, and in particular anyone that saw a blue Skoda Rapid in the area on Saturday evening.

Sergeant Rich Moors, of the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigations Unit, said at the time: “We’re continuing to investigate and understand fully what happened last night. We’d urge anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, or who witnessed the collision or saw a blue Skoda in the area to get in touch with us.

“Again, we’d kindly urge people not to speculate as to the circumstances.

“Sharlotte’s family are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them all at this time.”

Sharlotte’s dad, who was injured, received medical attention at the scene.

The 44-year-old driver of the car is currently being treated in hospital for the injuries they sustained.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact Staffordshire Police on 101, via social media, or email [email protected], quoting incident number 716 of June 19.
