Panhandler stabbed outside Carlo’s Bakery in Times Square

A pushy panhandler was stabbed in front of Carlo’s Bakery outside the Port Authority in Manhattan early Sunday, witnesses and police sources said.

The 39-year-old victim was asking for money from pedestrians when he was stabbed in the stomach outside the bakery at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue in Times Square around 1:30 a.m., police said.

A man selling cigarettes on the corner told The Post that the beggar is notorious in the area for being aggressive.

“He got what he deserved,” the cig peddler said.

The injured man was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said.

His attacker fled, and no arrests have been made, cops said.

Blood splatters could still be seen on the ground at the scene by early afternoon.
