PRINCE Harry's high-anticipated memoir 'Spare' is set to hit the shelves next year.
But why did the prince title the book 'Spare' and when will it be released? Here's everything you need to know.
Why is Prince Harry's book called 'Spare'?
Spare is set for the shelves – and for Prince Harry this is his final story.
Publishers have vowed that the book is written with ''raw, unflinching honesty'' as well as being ''full of insight, revelation, self-
examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.''
Publisher Penguin Random House's also added: ''Spare takes readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror.
''As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.''

But why is the book titled 'Spare'?
The title likely refers to "the heir and the spare", a saying used to describe Harry and his brother Prince William.
Where does the 'heir and spare' phrase come from?
The phrase 'heir and spare' highlights the distinction between the eldest child who is destined to inherit their parent's fortune, power and position – which in this case is Prince William.
And their younger siblings, also known as "spares" who are unlikely to never ascend to the throne.
