James Martin is best known for hosting his own cooking show on ITV, James Martin\u2019s Saturday Morning.<\/p>\n

The programme was launched in 2017 and is still going strong.<\/p>\n

While the chef has worked incredibly hard on his career, he once said: “The biggest low of my career is that I’ve given up everything for it.I look at my mates and they\u2019re all married with kids, and that\u2019s not the case for me because I\u2019ve been so focused on work. The level of commitment it requires and the choices you have to make have a huge impact.<\/p>\n

“But would I do the same thing again? Probably, because it\u2019s made me who I am. And why does everybody have to follow the norm anyway?\u201d<\/p>\n

James has an impressive net worth of around \u00a33.6million, according to CelebrityNetWorth.com.<\/p>\n

The 48-year-old was born in Malton, North Yorkshire, and grew up on a farm near Castle Howard, a stately home in the area.<\/p>\n

His father had taken on the role of catering manager at the castle, kick-starting James\u2019 love for food and cooking.<\/p>\n

Today, Malton is named \u2018Yorkshire\u2019s Food Capital\u2019, thanks to its many farms, artisan producers, and independent shops.<\/p>\n

James trained as a chef at Scarborough Technical College, where he won Student of the Year for three years running.<\/p>\n

His first cooking jobs were in London in 1991, where he worked at multiple high-end restaurants.<\/p>\n

In 1993 he took up position as pastry chef at Chewton Glen, a five-star hotel and spa not far from Bournemouth, on the country\u2019s south coast.<\/p>\n

A year later, at only 21-years-old he became head chef at Hotel du Vin, a French-inspired hotel and bistro in Winchester.<\/p>\n
