A WOMAN who's being trolled for clearing the shelf in Asda of reduced cat food has defended her epic haul.

Everyone loves looking for a bargain when they hit the supermarket, and Kev is one of them.


She took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share the Tiger cat food she'd seen reduced.

"45p in Asda…" she wrote in the caption.

"Yes there was loads left and I got this many as i have 3 cats and street strays to feed.

"This was the Dewsbury store."

But she wasn't the only one to have taken advantage of the reductions.

Joanne shared a picture of her kitchen counter absolutely covered in the boxes – 46 of them to be exact.

"Emptied Asda yesterday," she admitted, before revealing she had a reason for doing so.

"I'm part of a rescue so am very happy, and so are all the little hungry mouths!"

Despite the posts, some people in the comments section were still unhappy that the shelves had been cleared.

"Explains why the shelf was empty in my local the last few days," one wrote.

"People are greedy and the fact they don’t even feel bad says a lot about them as a person," another raged.

"It’s the nation we’ve become I’m afraid and stores should limit how many sales item a person can purchase.

"These would of been ideal for a sanctuary."

As a third sighed: "Well done on the find, not much point in telling anyone else, as you've got them all!"

But others insisted that the bargain-hunters shouldn't have to justify their purchases.

"Why do you need to justify yourself?" one questioned.

"Even if you had just one cat, you needed them.

"Well done you for your bargain."

"You do not have to justify. Buy as many as you can carry," another insisted.

"Great find, well done you," a third added.

"Love a bargain well done! Bless you for feeding strays," someone else commented.

As some comments came from people explaining why the reductions were being made.

"Re branding which is why they cheaper if anyone's wondering," one wrote.

"Not in all stores either."

"The old design was £1.50 in our store on Friday as got the new design which are £2.50 are bigger boxes," another commented.
