‘World’s sexiest athlete’ Alica Schmidt reveals TINY wages for competing on track and why she turned to social media | The Sun

ALICA SCHMIDT has lifted the lid on the challenges athletes face to make a living.

The 24-year-old has been dubbed the "world's sexiest athlete".

Schmidt is a 400m runner, who has competed at the World and European championships.

She was also part of Germany's relay team at the last Olympics but did not step onto the track as she was a reserve.

The beauty has revealed that athletes often struggle to cover their costs despite them performing at an elite level.

Schmidt said: "In principle, I have to say that it is not easy for most German track and field athletes to make a living from sport.
