BBC Strictly Come Dancings Nikita Kuzmin lands major new role away from show

Strictly Come Dancing's Nikita Kuzmin might be partnered with Layton Williams this year, but fans of the series could enjoy a spin around the ballroom with the pro in his new role.

Nikita is one of the pro dancers for the BBC One show and has been stunning audiences this season with his performances alongside Layton.

But now, he has landed a major new role that gives him the chance to expand his pool of dance partners – which could include some of his fans.

The Ukrainian dancer, 25, is one of a cast of big-name Strictly pros who have signed up to take part in Donaheys hotels Dancing With The Stars Weekends, which offers Strictly super fans the chance to watch exclusive performances, find out behind-the-scenes secrets, and even learn to dance with the pros themselves.

It's a dream weekend for viewers of the contest as the Strictly pros taking part also include last year's winner Jowita Przystal, dancer turned judge Anton Du Beke, and popular cast members including Giovanni Pernice, Kai Widdrington, Lauren Oakley and Nadiya Bychkova.

Dates available from March 2024 onwards also include the chance to meet former Strictly pros, husband and wife Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara.

However, Nikita will be hoping that his knee holds up for his new job as this week he was spotted struggling into a car wearing a knee brace following training with Layton.

Despite being one of the strongest couples in the competition and having achieved a high score of 39 points, Layton and Nikita have come in for criticism and trolling over West End performer Layton's previous dance experience.

In a chat with the Manchester Evening News, Layton said: "It's so weird when you're on the top and you want to celebrate, but some people can be so quick to say awful things.

"What would be lovely is for people to stop spreading hate and instead tell their favourites they love them instead. How much nicer would that be? I get that some people don't like me and that's fine, but take that energy and put it to good use, instead."

He added: "I hope that, by watching the show, people can see that I am not perfect and that I have so much to learn. When I first started, I didn't even realise that Latin and ballroom were two different things."

Nikita's previous Strictly partners have included Tilly Ramsay and Ellie Simmonds.
