Strictly: Cher performs ‘DJ play a Christmas Song’
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were treated to a performance by Cher during Saturday night’s final. The 77-year-old singer took to the stage to perform her festive single, DJ Play a Christmas Song.
However, some fans took to social media to share their disappointment that the music icon appeared to be miming. One user wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “It shows how high the standards are on #Strictly that Cher miming on #StrictlyFinal was the weakest bit of the final show.”
Another agreed saying: “I like Cher a lot but why was she miming #Strictly.” A third also added: “Cher out of breath miming ffs #strictly” (sic)
A fifth echoed: “Cher miming on strictly come dancing is absolutely criminal” while a sixth added: “Cher miming where I think and I could be wrong, all other musical guests have sung this year?”
Other fans were shocked when they realised that the American singer was nearly 80, with one saying: “Damn….Cher looks damn good for 77 years of age!!” And a second adding: “Cher looks absolutely stunning for 77 WOWWWW.” (sic)

Fans also questioned how Cher could look so young at 77 with one saying: “Does anyone have the number for 77-year-old Cher’s plastic surgeon please?”
Another added: “Cher is 77. SEVENTY-SEVEN. I want the name of her surgeon. She’s 30 years older than me and she looks 20 years younger. Name of her surgeon and a few bob please.”
During the glitzy final of the BBC dancing competition, it was also announced that Olly Alexander would be representing the UK during the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest.
One viewer praised how camp the show was after seeing Les Denis perform in the group dance. He wrote: “Eurovision…Cher…Just when you think it can’t get any more camp, Les Dennis wearing a gold lamé top and sitting astride a giant golden anchor descends into the dance floor. Love it! #strictly Great megamix there though. Some tunes!”

Ellie Leach and her professional dance partner Vito Coppola took home the Glitterball Trophy at the end of Saturday night’s live final.
The former Coronation Street actress is the show’s youngest winner beating Eastender’s Bobby Brazier and Bad Education star Layton Williams.
Once the results were announced Ellie said: “I actually, genuinely cannot believe this” before saying that it was the first time she had ever seen Vito.
