Big Brother is one of the biggest reality shows in British television history, offering the public full insight into people's lives.
Having kicked off in 2000, the show made waves for its constant filming of the show's participants. The show then went on to become a mainstay of British TV, launching the careers of several high-profile housemates including Alison Hammond and Jade Goody.

But as well as helping give careers to everyday people, viewers watched as housemates fell in and out of love as they endured the gruelling process together. So, as Big Brother makes its grand return to our screens this weekend, Daily Star revisits some of the most iconic couples in the show's history and sees where they are now.
Chantelle Houghton and Samuel Preston
Perhaps one of the most high-profile relationships, civilian Chantelle struck up a love affair with Ordinary Boys frontman Preston. The pair first met when Chantelle went in undercover on the celebrity version of the show in 2006.
Preston and Chantelle immediately became smitten with each other, but things got sticky when Preston became engaged to his girlfriend on the outside, Camille Aznar. After the pair broke up, Chantelle and Preston made a go of things, officially tying the knot in 2006.
However, things soon began to sour between the two, as a month after the marriage became official, Preston told Chantelle he had not wanted to marry her. Things were not helped when Chantelle released her autobiography later that year, which cause Preston to storm off on a recording of Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
The pair officially separated in 2007, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalised in November of that year, but the pair still remain friends.
Nikki Grahame and Pete Bennett
Nikki and Pete had a rocky relationship during their time in the house in the summer of 2006. After initially meeting, the duo immediately felt an attraction to each other.
However, as things progressed, Nikki began to become jealous of other women flirting with Pete, which caused the two to have a massive argument. The pair would have a push-and-pull relationship both in and out of the house after Nikki finished in fifth place, whilst Pete went on to win the show.
After the show ended, Nikki and Pete eventually called time on their relationship, feeling it would not be able to work on the outside. However, the pair remained friends and were reunited in the 2015 edition of the show, when Nikki returned as a temporary housemate and Pete joined as part of a task.
Nikki sadly passed away in 2021 after battling anorexia for most of her life. Pete paid tribute to his friend, saying: "We really love you Nikki. You were a true winner. You were great".
Chanelle Hayes and Ziggy Lichman
Chanelle and Ziggy made waves when they first locked eyes on each other back on Big Brother 8 in 2007. Dubbed the "Posh and Becks of reality TV", the pair had a tumultuous time in the house, as the pair regularly tore the set apart.
Things did not improve for the pair once the show ended, as Chanelle and Ziggy officially called it quits after six months. But the pair remained friends, with Chanelle admitting: "Yeah, we'll chat every now and again. I don't talk to anybody else from the show really."
Reunited in 2018 on Loose Women, the pair revealed their true feelings, with Ziggy confessing: "I have no doubt that we were in love." The twosome are still friends to this day.
Lisa Appleton and Mario Marconi
Lisa and Mario became firm favourites as they entered the house together as a couple in 2008. The couple got engaged on the show and then got hitched a year later.
But tragedy would follow the pair after they left the house after they were duped into thinking they landed their own show. However, the pair had been fooled by a conman who took off with thousands of their pounds.
Speaking after the debacle, Lisa told the Daily Star: "He destroyed my life confidence and dignity. When he disappeared, we were penniless and homeless, we had nothing."
Lisa and Marco also called time on their marriage in 2013 after eight years of blissful love. Lisa now works as an Amazon delivery driver.
Grace Adams-Short and Mikey Dalton
Along with Nikki and Pete, the 2006 series saw another relationship blossom between Grace and Mikey. Whilst the pair did not get too close on the show, they did connect outside and love blossomed from there.
After finding love together on the show some 17 years ago, Grace and Mikey got engaged four months after leaving the house and have been hitched ever since. The couple now are proud parents to three beautiful children.
And Grace and Mikey still find each other irresistible to this day. Speaking to The Sun in 2022, Grace admitted: "We still bounce off each other like we did from day one. Obviously we drive each other mad sometimes like any other couple, but we’re best friends and now we’ve got the children, it’s even deeper."
