Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) has been struggling to adjust to his new living situation in EastEnders, having been forced to move in with Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) after the return of Ian and Cindy Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Michelle Collins).
We can understand where he’s coming from, as being cramped under the same roof as Sonia, Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman), Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) isn’t exactly our idea of a fun time.
However, Rocky is determined to keep the peace between Bobby and Sonia, in order to keep a roof over their heads, which means Bobby having to go along with whatever it is Sonia wants to do.
This becomes particularly tricky on family movie nights, as Sonia and Bobby’s ideas of entertainment don’t quite align.
When Rocky reminds Bobby that it’s movie night, Kathy enthuses about how it’s a tradition that she wants to continue when they get a place of their own, though Bobby questions if they have to keep watching Sonia’s choice of film.

Bobby makes it clear that he doesn’t think he can take ‘another true crime gore fest’, which is understandable given his history.
Following his return to the Square after being released from prison for killing sister Lucy, Bobby has tried to distance himself from his past actions, and we can’t imagine true crime movies help him to do that.
Wanting everything to work out and to keep the peace between everyone, Rocky encouraged Sonia to compromise on a movie, and surprised Bobby with the notoriously gory horror movie Scream.
Not quite what he had in mind, we’re sure…
As Bobby prepared to make excuses, he was put off by Rocky shaking his head frantically, and instead promised to be there with snacks and dips.
While Rocky reiterated the importance of keeping Sonia sweet in order to still have somewhere to live, Bobby’s nan could see the toll their living arrangements were taking on him.
As Rocky walked away, Kathy assured Bobby that they wouldn’t be in this position for much longer, and asked him to just hang on a little while longer.
Will Bobby be able to stick it out, or will things take a turn for the worse?
