EastEnders fans are convinced that Shirley will return on Christmas Day and kill son Dean Wicks.
Shirley hasn't been seen since December 2022, leaving Albert Square following the supposed death of her son Mick Carter (Danny Dyer). Since Dean (Matt Di Angelo) made his way back to Walford on Halloween, fans have been begging for Shirley (Linda Henry) to make a comeback.
And with a death looming, viewers believe it's the perfect time for Shirley return. On Christmas Day, at least one unidentified male will meet his death in The Queen Vic. Six of Walford's matriarchs, now known as The Six, were stood over the body with one of them tipped to be the killer.

Earlier this month, the BBC soap appeared to confirm the seven male victims. These are Jack Branning (Scott Masden), Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), Rocky Cotton (Brain Conley), Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Dean, all of whom have made an enemy of at least one of The Six.
But there is certainly room for a seventh. When Dean returned, he dropped the bombshell on Linda (Kellie Bright) that he'd convinced Shirley he never raped her.
He also claimed to be the one to pick up the pieces as Shirley struggled with the loss of Mick. But viewers aren't so sure. Taking to social media, fans speculated Shirley's pending return and her link to the Christmas murder.
One claimed: "Dean will be the body on Christmas Day and the camera will pan around and Shirley will have killed him." A second added: "Oh I want Shirley to come back to kill Dean and maybe that’s why they screamed in the six reveal cause they saw Shirley."
Another chipped in: "Hey, what if the dead body is Dean and the killer is Shirley ??" Someone else theorised: "I’m calling it – Phil calls Shirley and tells her what’s been happening and she comes back and kills Dean after catching him attacking Linda."
A sixth echoed: "Body Dean – Killer Shirley – the six are witnesses." While Shirley's return is yet to be confirmed, EastEnders' executive producer Chris Clenshaw assured she will be back.
"When she walked off with Lady Di last year, in the wake of Mick’s disappearance, it won’t have been the last you see of her. I can say that for sure,” he teased.
