With a pop sensation father and a model mother, it's no surprise that Junior Andre was destined for a life with his name in lights. And while the 18-year-old is following in dad Peter's footsteps by carving out a music career for himself, it appears that isn't the only show business avenue he's headed down.
Talking exclusively with OK! this week, the young star admitted that he's keen to crack the acting scene, which is something he's working on 'in the background'.
The budding singer explained: "Acting is another passion of mine. I went to the BRIT School to study Theatre, and though I’m releasing my music, I’m still pursuing acting behind the scenes."
As he talks us through his passion, we wonder what would be Junior's dream role? "I just love reading scripts and I’d be open to any role. I’d love a role in a suspenseful thriller series or something more serious. But also, my friends tell me I’ve got a funny personality, so maybe I’d be good in a comedy series. Honestly, I’ll try anything once!"
Junior's widely-anticipated second single Only One was released earlier this month, and scored him his very first number one on the official iTunes charts.
Alongside younger sister Princess, 16, Junior is the child of former couple Peter and Katie Price, who made headlines when they found love on TV almost 20 years ago. With his family background meaning he was thrust into a world of fame from birth, Junior insists that isn't the reason for his newfound music success.
"If you’re not good at what you do, you won’t succeed, and I’m already succeeding," he cheekily beamed as we probed what he would say to any haters.
"I don’t think it matters what family you’re born into, if you’ve got talent, you’ll do well. I’ll tell the haters to watch this space."
He's certainly doing his dad proud too, who is no doubt reminiscing over his own chart success in the late 1990s and early 2000s with hits such as Mysterious Girl and Flava.
Chatting on his son's music endeavours in his exclusive weekly column, Peter gushed: "It’s still just the beginning and we have a long way to go. He’s worked so hard for this achievement – but that is how you get results.
"It was certainly a surreal moment seeing him on Loose Women in his own right recently, though. #proudpops1".
