Football accumulator tips for THIS weekend (30 Sept-01 Oct 2023) | The Sun

ANOTHER PREMIER LEAGUE weekend is upon us with a mouthwatering clash between two unbeaten teams, Tottenham and Liverpool, lying in wait.

Leaders Manchester City take their 100% record to Wolves, although Brighton could replace them at the summit when they face Aston Villa in the Saturday lunchtime game.

As ever, we’ve got a five-legged accumulator for the weekend’s action in the English top flight, while here’s also a treble (sadly last week’s missed by a single goal).

A £10 wager on our treble this week would pay out £35.60, while the same stake on our accumulator produces a potential return of £85.

Take a look at our top football sites if you want to see more offers.

🥅 Wolves vs Manchester City: City to win and Erling Haaland to score (8/15)

City must respond after midweek defeat at Newcastle in the Carabao Cup and this looks an ideal fixture in which to do just that.

On their travels last season, they beat every bottom-half side, except Nottingham Forest, and they’ve already won at Burnley and Sheffield United this time around.

They’ve won their last six against Wolves and last season Erling Haaland netted four goals across the sides’ two matches.

The record-breaking top scorer already has eight from six games this term and so this looks a good way of getting a decent price out of City.

🥅 Newcastle vs Burnley: Newcastle to win (1/3)

Newcastle will have taken great heart from Wednesday’s win over Manchester City in the League Cup, one which followed on from last weekend’s 8-0 demolition of Sheffield United.

They will welcome back a few players here and winless Burnley are likely to struggle to contain them.

Breaking them down will also be an issue – Newcastle have the second-best expected goals against (xGA) figure in the Premier League, while Burnley have the lowest expected-goals tally.

The Clarets have only scored four times so far and the man who netted two of them, Lyle Foster, is suspended here.

A home win looks a banker.

🥅 Tottenham vs Liverpool: Both teams to score (4/11)

It’s hard not to have been impressed with how these two sides have played in the opening six games of the season but something has to give now.

Both have looked full of goals with Spurs having had the most shots so far and Liverpool the best expected goals (xG) total.

Don’t expect a let-up from either in terms of attacking intent, while question marks still hang over both defences.

Clean sheets have certainly been in short supply with both teams to score having landed in seven of Liverpool’s eight games in all competitions this season and five of seven of Spurs’ matches.

BTTS looks the way to go in the big game of the weekend.

Add the following two bets to make it a 5-fold acca.

🥅 Bournemouth vs Arsenal: Arsenal to win (13/25)

Arsenal’s title challenge emerged last season largely due to their ability to grind out results on the road.

They won 12 of their 19 away games, 10 of them without conceding.

They included a 3-0 victory in this particular fixture and, with two 1-0 victories already pocked on their travels in 2023/24, something similar looks on the cards here.

They will be aware of Bournemouth’s threat – the Cherries showed it during the first half against Brighton last week – but Andoni Iraola’s side remain vulnerable at the back, conceding 11 in their opening six games, none of which has been won.

Expect the Gunners’ quality to shine through here.

🥅 Manchester United vs Crystal Palace: United to win (11/20)

United beat Palace 3-0 in midweek at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup and they look capable of a repeat here.

They are getting players back from injury – Mason Mount, Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire all played on Tuesday – and that should help bolster a team which looked rather too open in some early-season matches.

Palace have scored only six goals so far and after a good start to the campaign, their shots numbers have dropped off alarmingly in their last three games (only 17 taken).

Their reliance on Eberechi Eze is notable and if United can keep the England man quiet, United should get this done.
