A woman showed off the gigantic blister she got whilst on holiday on the Greek island of Zante.
Ella Rose Howatson, from Warrington, caused a sensation on TikTok after sharing the story of how too much sun caused a large and rather terrifying blister on her leg.
She said: ‘The worst thing happened to me after this night in Zante. I woke up to a bite or blister.
‘It started growing throughout the day, plasters weren’t able to cover it anymore and the next day it got even bigger.’
Ella then said she had to buy some bandages to cover the huge blister in the airport just in case it popped, adding that it had grown to triple the size it originally was.

She filmed herself in tears and said ‘I’m so scared,’ as her boyfriend popped the blister.
The distraught holidaymaker then said: ‘I went to the chemist as soon as I landed and they told me not to pop it.
‘I get home and my boyfriend and step-dad are repeatedly telling me to pop it so I said to my boyfriend “you can do it then” and he said he will.’
Her boyfriend then ‘squeezed out the juice, but the blister soon started to refill with liquid before deflating again.
Ella then said: ‘Finally it started to heal after I got some antibiotic cream, a month later and I’m still scarred.’
The tourist then showed a picture of a round scar that was left on her ankle.
The viral video racked up more than four million views, almost 100,000 likes on the social media site.
More than a thousand people commented on the clip, eager to know what caused the blister.
One wrote: ‘Did you ever find out what caused it/ or what it was? I was thinking horsefly bite but I can only see a blister and no swelling!’
Another said: ‘You should never pop blisters as they can get infected. They will go on their own.’
Can I also just say that I’ve never had a blister before so I was clueless – I should’ve popped it when it was tiny looking back 🥲💀 #privatestory #snapchat #blister #zante2023 #zantetown #laganas #laganastrip #holidayproblems #problems

A third penned: ‘It scarred because you popped it lol.’
A fourth commented: ‘I get this every time a mosquito bites me. I’m allergic.’
Ella then made a second video, updating those intrigued on the situation and how she got her blister.
She explained that her hotel room had two doors – one with ‘holes in it’ and another which was an actual glass door.
As their air conditioning was not powerful enough, Ella and her friend were too warm and so decided to open the glass doors, while leaving the ‘door with the holes’ shut.

But Ella thinks that a pesky insect may have bitten her in the night, as she woke up to the blister.
They then made the decision to leave the doors open again the following evening, but Ella was worried she was going to be bitten again, but thankfully she was not.
‘I found a big blank ant running on the floor and I was like, “Oh okay maybe it’s a fire ant that’s bitten me”, but I don’t know what it was,’ she said.
