Chelsea fans fume as star is axed by Nottingham Forest for Man City clash as they slam 'pointless' loan transfer | The Sun

CHELSEA fans have been left raging after loanee Andrey Santos was left out of Nottingham Forest's squad for their trip to Manchester City.

The Blues confirmed the midfielder's arrival in January from Vasco de Gama in an £18million deal.

He stayed with the Brazilian outfit for the remainder of last season, before joining up with Mauricio Pochettino's men in the summer.

But last month he was sent out on loan to fellow Premier League side Forest.

And while he did play the full 90 minutes in their Carabao Cup defeat to Burnley, he is yet to feature in the league.

Santos was on the bench for the draws against Liverpool and Burnley.

But he was not included in Steve Cooper's squad for their other four Premier League fixtures.

He was left out in the cold yet again on Saturday as Forest headed to the Etihad without him.

And Chelsea fans have not taken the decision well as they continue to bemoan his lack of game time.

In response to Santos' omission, one Blues supporter said: "Terrible move."

Another added: "Completely unacceptable! We should be terminating the loan. #FreeSantos."

A third replied: "Waste of time 😴."

And a fourth responded: "Most pointless loan out."

Santos' loan comes as Chelsea continue to struggle under new boss Pochettino.

They have won just one of their opening five Premier League games, losing to West Ham and Santos' Nottingham Forest.

Next up for the West London outfit is a clash with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
