Yorke on De Gea
Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke insists his former club made a mistake when they let David de Gea go and replaced him with Andre Onana.
Yorke told OLBG:
I've said before that Man United need to be careful what they wish for with losing David de Gea. For all the good De Gea has done for Man United, the way his career ended was really bad. I hope this doesn't come back to haunt Man United. Be careful what you wish for.
De Gea was the Golden Glove winner, a high-profile player who made mistakes, like the rest of us. De Gea winning the Golden Glove is like winning the Golden Boot and being the top scorer at the club but still getting replaced by the football club. That did not resonate well with me.
In my opinion, Onana is not as good as De Gea. Onana tries to be an outfield player rather than a goalkeeper sometimes and the people who have criticised De Gea and wanted him to leave will probably be the ones who will be calling him to come back. I'm hoping that doesn't happen for Man United’s sake.

Ivan Toney tip
Manchester United legend Andy Cole believes Brentford star Ivan Toney would make his former club "a little bit better" despite his suspension.
Cole told Betfred:
I like him. If Manchester United did move to sign Ivan, then he’s only going to make them a little bit better than they find themselves at this exact moment.
He’s been a key player for Brentford and he’s scored plenty of goals for them in the Premier League and if the opportunity came up, then why shouldn’t Manchester United consider signing him? It all depends on what Manchester United see themselves doing going forward.
Ivan’s 27 years old and he could even help Rasmus Hojlund come through. If they are interested in signing him, then I believe Ivan could be a good addition to this Manchester United team.
Could Ivan make the step up to a team like Manchester United? We could argue about whether Hojlund can make the step up at Old Trafford. Nobody knows what can happen because any player that comes into Manchester United, that we don't know much about, is going to be considered a gamble.
He’s yet to get off the mark for the club, even though we know that he’s scored goals already at international level for Denmark, but nobody knows what they’re going to get from Rasmus yet. When you ask whether players like Ivan Toney can make the step up to the next level, then you’re never going to know whether they’re capable or not until they’re given the opportunity to show that they can do it.
When I moved from Bristol City to Newcastle United, did people believe I could make the step up? I don’t think they did but I was able to. When I moved from Newcastle United to Manchester United, did people believe I could make the step up? I don’t think they did but I proved that I could, so it’s all about giving players the opportunity.

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana demanded a post-match interview after the Champions League match with Bayern Munich to offer an apology for his blunder that led to Leroy Sane's opener.
It's difficult to lose this way because, in the beginning, we started very good.
After my mistake, we lost control of the game.
It's a difficult situation for us, for me especially because I'm the one who let the team down. We didn't win today because of me.

Champions League misery
Manchester United suffered a miserable 4-3 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
Bayern opened the scoring with Leroy Sane following a major blunder by United goalkeeper Andre Onana and doubled their lead with Serge Gnabry.
Rasmus Hojlund netted his first ever goal with the Red Devils to put the visitors back in the game.
However, England captain Harry Kane made it 3-1 from the penalty spot before Casemiro put the Manchester giants back in the chase.
But Mathys Tel netted the Bavarians' fourth before Casemiro completed his brace.

Rio 'respect' for honest Andre
United legend Rio Ferdinand praised Andre Onana for his scorching honesty after the keeper's costly blunder against Bayern.
Onana claims "my mistake" turned the game in the Red Devils' 4-3 Champions League loss and admits he's been "not so good" for the United since arriving this summer.
Ex-United and England defender Ferdinand said: "I respect that.
"I've lost games and made mistakes and refused to speak to the media at times.
"That showed good character and showed he's made of the right stuff."

Premier League set for schedule change
The Premier League is set for a major shake-up, with 25 more games set to be broadcast in the UK.
The 3pm blackout is also expected to be discussed.
A series of changes to the already-packed football calendar will see at least 50 extra games televised.
Officials have proposed an extra slot for Premier League action at 6:30pm on Sundays, meaning six games will be broadcast every weekend.
In addition to the proposed increase in games on Sunday’s, the next TV agreement is set to make more fixtures available for Friday and Monday slots.
However, this could cause controversy among fans – especially those travelling for away days.

Red Devils 'bid £50m for Evan'
Manchester United had a secret £50million offer for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson rebuffed after missing out on Harry Kane, it's claimed
The Red Devils’ search for a striker this season ultimately saw them land the inexperienced Rasmus Hojlund for £72million.
According to ESPN, United attempted to snatch the 18-year-old but they were “laughed off” by the Seagulls.
Reporter Rob Dawson said: “A bid of £50m for 18-year-old Evan Ferguson was laughed off by Brighton.”
Dawson claims the incident shows how far the Red Devils have fallen from the top-tier in Europe and are no longer able to attract the best players in the world.
Kane, Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham all left their respective clubs this summer and none of them came close to a move to Old Trafford.

United fans reckon Andre Onana "showed more balls and character" than his team-mates after he "DEMANDED" to be interviewed following his Champions League nightmare
Onana admitted it was "my worst game" after he gifted Bayern the opener in the Red Devils' 4-3 loss but praised his team-mates for making a fight of it.
One fan said: "Fair play to Onana for that interview.

Another added: "Owning up to it nice to see.

Ole desperately wanted Kane and Bellingham
Ex-United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed his frustration at missing out on star signings.
Solskjaer alerted club owners the Glazers to Erling Haaland and Moises Caicedo.
And in particular he wanted England heroes Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham.
He told The Athletic: “I would have signed Kane every day of the week.
"We wanted Jude badly, he’s a United player.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims player power started to bring United towards the end of his reign.
He told The Athletic: “When things didn’t go right, you could see certain egos came out.
“Some players felt they should’ve played more and weren’t constructive. That’s a huge sin for me.
“Agents and family members get into their heads and tell them they’re better than they are because they have a vested interest. It’s a disease of modern football.”
Solskjaer added: “I was very disappointed when some said they wouldn’t play or train because they wanted out.
“When you have a group you need everyone to pull in the same direction.”
Ole: I was WRONG to re-sign Ronaldo
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United was a big error.
And the former boss blames egos in the dressing room for his sacking in November 2021.
Red Devils legend Ronaldo was available that summer, with rivals Manchester City ready to pounce.
Sir Alex Ferguson persuaded the Portuguese star to return to Old Trafford — where he scored twice on his second debut in the 4-1 win over Newcastle.
Solskjaer, 50, told The Athletic: “It was a decision that was very difficult to turn down but it turned out wrong.
“It felt so right when he signed and the fans felt it at that Newcastle game when Old Trafford was rocking.”

"I have a lot to prove. My start in Manchester hasn't been so good, not how I want. This was one of my worst games. We have big ambition.
"It's a tough time. We have to be together and work hard."

Erik ten Hag praised keeper Andre Onana for claiming his "mistake" for Bayern's opening goal proved costly.
The United boss told TNT Sports: "It's good he's doing that but it's about the team.

Kane bemused by 'crazy finish' to Bayern win
Harry Kane was bemused as Bayenr "controlled and dictated" much of their 4-3 win over Manchester United – but had to survive a "crazy finish" to the Champions League clash.
The £100million summer signing made it 3-1 with a penalty.
But Casemiro struck twice for United in the closing minutes – albeit either side of a Mathys Tel goal for the German hosts.
Kane told TNT Sports: "Crazy finish. For the majority of the game we controlled it and dictated the tempo.
"We just lost a bit of concentration in the last five minutes. Thankfully we held onto the lead.
"It's always great to score. Always room for improvement. It's a great night tonight. We're building. We can enjoy this."
"As a striker I know I'll get chances. It's exciting to play with them (Bayern). We're still getting to know each other. I'm excited for what's to come."

Came on to throw some additional muscle into midfield.

Added some pace to the wing but energy came too little too late.

Got an assist for United's second after coming on and was crucial in the build up for the goal.

Facundo Pellistri – 4
Seemed to be overawed by the occasion. On a night Ten Hag declared Alphonso Davies was not a great defender, Pellistri may have been thinking the exact opposite.
Marcus Rashford – 6
Bright in moments but lacked support in the final third.
His cut-back tactic continued to create chances but a lack of clinical finishing punished United when chances did present themselves.
Rasmus Hojlund – 6
Struggled to link-up with team-mates in the first half before netting a scrappy goal on his Champions League debut.
Will have better nights in a United shirt but his desire to try and effect the game was good to see.

Casemiro – 5
Unable to stamp his authority on the midfield battle with United once again cut through far too easily.
Pulled a late goal back after some scrappy play by poking the ball into the bottom corner when on the floor before nodding home another late consolation.
Christian Eriksen – 4
Should have scored early on when presented with a glorious chance but fired his shot low and saw it saved by Sven Ulreich.
Gave away a soft penalty early in the second half. Subbed for McTominay at 69mins.
Bruno Fernandes – 5
Far from his best throughout. Failed to create anything noteworthy and was a passenger in many defensive phases.
It was not until he dropped deeper in the match that he contributed to the defensive phase in a better way. Wicked free-kick for United's third of the evening.

Awful error to gift Bayern Munich the lead following a tame effort from Leroy Sane. Could do nothing for the second and dived the right way for Kane's emphatic penalty.
Showed some strong passing throughout and made some fine saves later on in the match. United fans will be hoping the error was a blip.
Diogo Dalot – 5
Skipped past too easily by Musiala before Serge Gnabry grabbed Bayern's second of the evening. Poor defensive display from the Portuguese and marginally better going forward.
Victor Lindelof – 5
Like Martinez was not directly at fault for the goals and looked assured on the ball. Lost Tel for the Bayern forward's injury time scorcher.
Lisandro Martinez – 5
Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes highlighted Martinez for failing to pick up Gnabry for the second goal even though he was picking up Harry Kane in the penalty area.
Lack of stability in defence clearly impacting the ability to keep clean sheets despite United now being more assured on the ball playing out.
Sergio Reguilon – 3
Made some dangerous runs behind the Bayern defence and flashed a dangerous ball across goal in the first half after combining with Casemiro, but found no one able to reach the ball for the tap-in.
Too often lacked the quality to be a credible threat and badly struggled up against Sane.
