Meet Man Utd's celebrity fans from Hollywood A-listers and music superstars to world famous athletes and comedians | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED have their fair share of celebrity fans.

From Hollywood A-Listers and legendary musicians to famous sports stars and comedians – the Red Devils attract supporters from far and wide.

British television legend Ian McShane was spotted sitting alongside Sir Alex Ferguson during Saturday's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.

Fans were left confused as the 80-year-old sat chatting to Fergie during the game.

And he would have enjoyed the rousing comeback by Erik ten Hag's side, who recovered from 2-0 down to win.

McShane is far from being the only celeb to have shown off their love for United down the years.

Stormzy

Despite hailing from Croydon, Stormzy is a proud Man United fan.

The multi-award winning rapper even admitted to being starstruck while appearing on Sky Sports alongside club royalty Roy Keane and Gary Neville.

The 30-year-old said: "I’ve never met these guys before. We were just walking past and we were starstruck and someone gave me a mic and I’m up here like ‘Mum, I made it’."

Shaun Ryder

Mancunian legend Shaun Ryder is a United fan, having grown up in the area.

But he has admitted that he doesn't let the results affect his mood.

In a 2010 interview, the Happy Mondays star said: "I am a Red. I am not the world’s biggest fan."

Dave

Rapper Dave hails from Brixton but is in love with the Red Devils.

The 25-year-old is a huge Marcus Rashford fan, and told the forward in a 2019 interview with The Guardian: "I rate you so highly, not just in terms of football, but because I can see you take it seriously.

"I can look to you and say, “Wow, this is someone who’s got an opportunity and he’s running with it.'"

Julia Roberts

Hollywood superstar Julia Roberts is a Man United fan, much to Pep Guardiola's devastation.

Roberts left Guardiola heartbroken when she visited Old Trafford rather than the Etihad.

And she did it again over the summer, by visiting the United camp during their pre-season tour of the US.

Tyson Fury

Heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury is a massive Man United fan.

The Morecambe bruiser loves the Red Devils, and even took to social media when they signed Mason Mount earlier this summer.

He wrote: "Welcome @MasonMount."

Steve Coogan

Steve Coogan has pledged his allegiance to the Red Devils.

The Lancashire-born Alan Partridge star admitted to being a United man in an interview.

He said he is a "weekend Manchester United fan".

Rick Astley

Singer Rick Astley is never going to give United up.

Or let them down.

In 2016 he watched United stars dancing to his most famous hit, and responded: "Paul Pogba's got some moves!"

Orlando Bloom

Actor Orlando Bloom picked the Red Devils for an unusual reason.

Hailing from Canterbury, United wouldn't be the obvious choice for the 46-year-old.

But he claims to be a United man because of the influence of his next-door neighbour.

Usain Bolt

Fastest man in the world Usain Bolt is an enormous Man United supporter.

The Jamaican is a die-hard football fan and has visited Old Trafford on many occasions, even playing there in Soccer Aid.

He sensationally claimed earlier this summer that Marcus Rashford could beat him in a sprint over 20 yards.

Rory McIlroy

Northern Irish golf superstar Rory McIlroy is a huge United supporter.

In a throwback snap released earlier this year, McIlroy could be seen proudly sporting a Red Devils strip.

He even heaped praise on Harry Maguire last year, saying: "He seems like a great leader, a great motivator, the sort of personality that you would want to captain a football team and someone you look up to."

Conor McGregor

The Notorious is a Man United fan, having been attracted by the success of some of his Irish compatriots – while also calling Sir Alex the "don of football".

In an interview with United club media, McGregor said: "I was attracted to the success and winning mentality of the club and people surrounded by United.

"Irish legends like Denis Irwin and Roy Keane were dedicated to their craft and had that winning mentality."

Ian McShane

Actor Ian McShane's father Harry played for Man United under Sir Matt Busby between 1950 and 1954.

Explaining his friendship with Sir Alex to United Magazine, McShane said: "My dad was scouting for United when Sir Alex first arrived, and I was very close to my mum and dad so, whenever I came up to Manchester, I'd go to a game.

"I really got to know him in 1993 when we were invited to the 25th anniversary of the European Cup final."
