OLD wounds are reopened next week as Kathy and Peter Beale see each other again for the first time in a year.
The EastEnders pair left things on a sour note when the hunk decided to leave Albert Square. Can they put the past behind them?
The Prince Albert owner played by Gillian Taylforth recently rushed out of Walford to enjoy her honeymoon with her new husband Rocky Cotton.
But before she could celebrate their union, Kathy made the decision to sell the local chippy in an attempt to help Rocky get rid of his overbearing ex-wife Jo.
Rocky's former other half blackmailed him after tricking him into committing bigamy.
However, when Kathy's decision to sell the family business came to light, her grandson Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) was stunned and contacted his older half-brother Peter (Thomas Law).

The hunk was lured back to the Square a year after a highly bitter exit but in scenes airing next week on BBC One, he's tracked down by his mother Cindy (Michelle Collins).
Upon her return, the iconic villainess decides to look for Kathy but she's stopped in her tracks.
Meanwhile, Kathy is rushed off her feet catering for Anna Knight’s party and sends Rocky and Bobby off to the chippy to prep.
She eventually receives a shock visit from Cindy who is seemingly back from the dead but Kathy is even more stunned to learn that Peter is also back in Walford.

In later scenes, Peter and Kathy have a heart-to-heart but will they really be able to put the past behind them?
While this remains to be seen, Peter heads to his father Ian's (Adam Woodyatt) side and soon realises the real reason his dad didn’t want Cindy to return to the Square.
How will he react to the revelation?
Despite his father's feelings, Peter heads to The Vic himself to celebrate Anna's birthday.

But when Ian arrives and bumps into Sharon Watts and Phil Mitchell (respectively portrayed by Letitia Dean and Steve McFadden), all hell is about to break loose.
As mentioned above, Peter and Kathy were on bad terms when he left Walford.
This was due to the fact Peter had been mistakenly attacked by Ben Mitchell and Kathy, his mother, refused to provide a statement against him to help her grandson.
Incandescent with rage, Peter retaliated by stealing money from her and fled from the Square.
