Strictly Come Dancing fans couldn’t help but notice Neil Jones’s “outraged” reaction to Shirley Ballas’ savage score to Angela Rippon.
The glitzy BBC One show returned for another live episode on Saturday night (November 4). The likes of Bobby Brazier and Nigel Harman all took to the dance floor to show off their best dance moves.
So far in the competition, Angela has been setting the dance floor on fire with partner Kai Widdrington. But when it came to showbiz veteran Angela Rippon’s performance of a Watlz, it seemed Shirley wasn’t that keen.
Not afraid to speak her mind, the head judge shared criticism about Angela's foot placement. Meanwhile co-star Anton Du Beke branded her as "elegant" and "beautiful."
After performing Angela and pro dancer Kai headed upstairs to find out their scores. Craig and Anton gave them a 7 and Motsi gave them an 8. Whereas Shirley scored slightly lower with a 6 – giving the pair a total of 28 points and making it Angela and Kai's lowest scoring dance so far.
And it’s fair to say her decision didn’t go down too well. Standing behind Angela and Kai, pro dancer Neil had his jaw on the floor hearing Shirley’s number.
And fans were quick to notice it too. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Neil’s reaction to Angela Rippon getting a 6 might be face of the series.” Someone else added: “neil being outraged over angela and kai's scores.”
Another chimed in and penned: “that was such a harsh score by Shirley. A fourth said: “wheezing at neil’s reaction to angela and kai’s scores.”

Other fans reckon Angela herself wasn't too happy with the scores. One X user wrote: "There we go. First negative comments about Angela Rippon and she is rolling her eyes at Craig's critique. How dare you Craig. Angela, you are amazing for your age but you have to take the critique."
Another penned: "Bit behind. Angela Rippon’s face when the judges were criticising her – oh, she really didn’t like that." While a supportive fan gushed: "Angela Rippon is such a class act."
