Strictly’s Layton Williams told to ‘wear more’ as crew struggle to film training

Strictly: Layton and Nikita perform waltz

It looks as though the bosses of Strictly Come Dancing are having issues filming Layton William during rehearsals.

The 29-year-old has reportedly been asked by the BBC team to cover up when practising his dances with professional partner Nikita Kuzmin.

Each week, before the duo take to the dancefloor fans get to see a glimpse of how their training has been coming along as they practise in a dance studio.

Viewers got to see Layton learn the Viennese Waltz this week as he wore an oversized grey hoodie and shorts whilst Nikita taught him the dance moves.

However, the celebrity’s attire may have been down to bosses as Layton revealed he’s been told to cover up more.

Speaking to The Mirror, he said: “I keep getting told by the camera crew to wear more clothes.

“In the training room, they’re like: ‘We’re seeing a lot of things.’ But this is how I feel comfortable.

“I’ve got my jock strap on, it’s the BBC. But everything is nice and tight and together.”

This Saturday, Layton performed the Viennese Waltz to There Are Worse Things I Could Do from the film Grease.

Dressing up in drag to play the role of Rizzo, it seemed as though the judges weren’t as impressed with the contestant this week as they delivered some harsh critiques.

Picking up on a few errors Layton made, the actor was awarded a total of 28, which put him eighth on the leaderboard.

Although his score wasn’t the worst of the night, he slipped seven places from last weekend after he managed to be at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 35 out of 40 points.

Currently, Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu are at the top of the leaderboard with a total of 35 after their Charleston routine blew the judges away.

At the bottom, Jody Cundy and Jowita Przystal have found themselves in 14th place with a score of 20.

However, it was Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez who found themselves leaving the competition after going head-to-head with Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima in the dance-off.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:30pm.
