Celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Sachin Shridharani has encouraged young people to be careful when it comes to facial fillers.
Speaking to The Face with Alex Pike podcast this week, the New York-based surgeon was open about the ‘overuse’ of fillers from people in their early 20s.
Alex, 46, herself a celebrity cosmetic injector, agreed with the Doctor about the issue of ‘filler fatigue’ and ‘fillorexia’ in patients.
‘I think there’s definitely an element where a lot of people in this industry are starting to look the same,’ Sachin said, bluntly.
Dr Shridharani, who trained at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital, added that the trend of young patients being overfilled is ‘concerning’.

‘It’s kind of odd, all the cheekbones are too high, all the lips are too full, they’ve given up on their own natural beauty,’ he added.
Dr Shridharani said he had no problem saying ‘no’ to patients when necessary and stressed the importance of maintaining a good reputation in the industry when it comes to treating people.
‘Why are we injecting these 20-something patients that don’t need anymore volume? It’s concerning,’ he explained.
‘I’m not taking full faces that already are statuesque and throwing another two or three mls in their cheekbones just to make a patient happy.’

Dr Shridharani admitted excess filler can make a patient look ‘weird’ and like a ‘caricature’ of themselves.
‘It does age the face. It does make it look a little too mature in some ways,’ he explained.
He went on to say that a youthful face is a ‘volume restored’ face, which creates the best overall outcome for patients.
It comes after Married At First Sight star Liam Cooper said that he deeply regretted getting fat injections in his face.
In an emotional Instagram post, the 32-year-old said he’d been left with body image issues from the procedure, which he had done a year ago.
‘At the time I was told fat Injections are just like filler,’ he admitted.

‘Well let me tell you something, I hardly regret things in my life, but this is one that I HIGHLY regret, and when I say highly, I mean if I could turn back time, I would!’ he continued.
‘Because of this, I now have body image issues and at points hate what my face looks like now. I hate it that much, I hate looking at myself in photos.’
Liam went on to say that he now avoids taking photos and is fearful to even upload videos on his Instagram Stories.
‘I am now in the process of reversing this and I can’t bloody wait!’ he added.
