My ‘tuck around’ method is the best way to shift fallen leaves, all you need is a household essential | The Sun

SOMETIMES the top hacks are the simplest ones and one homeowner claims to have found her own.

She said her "tuck around" method was the best way to deal with one of the major fall garden tasks.

As far as she was concerned, all you needed to shift mounds of fallen leaves was a household essential.

There was nothing remotely complicated about Melodys Adventure's (@mellymeadventure) tip.

It was super simple and, as Melody pointed out playfully in her post, you could have some fun while doing it.

“The best way to move leaves," she announced in a backyard surrounded by mounds of them.

They say the best ideas are borne out of necessity and so it was in her case.

“We needed leaves for compost in the garden. This was the easiest way to transport them," she wrote.

She had an epic job ahead of her, but fortunately, her tip was going to help.

Forget about garden gadgets. All you had to do for Melody's method was head for your linen cupboard.

“Use a fitted sheet," she said, "and tuck the leaves under."

That was all there was to it. If her instructions weren't yet clear, she went into some more detail.

First, she laid the expanse of material over the fallen leaves.

“Tuck around the whole sheet," she said while scooping leaves under. Then it was time for the next stage.

“Now flip one side over and shake the corners to fit all the leaves inside."

Voila and job done. But she had one more job to do, the impulse was too much for her.

“Don’t forget to have fun," she said as she jumped into another mound of leaves.

Commenters were quick to offer their own versions of this exercise.

“I just rake mine onto a tarp then drag it," said one person.
