MANCHESTER UNITED’S DONNY VAN DE BEEK insists he has no regrets about signing for them – but admitted he needs to leave if he's not playing.
The 26-year-old Dutch international midfielder was a £34m arrival signing from Ajax back in 2020.
However, Van de Beek has only made six Premier League starts for the Red Devils and is still at the club despite failing to make a breakthrough into a first-team regular.
The star’s time in England has been marred by injuries and a lack of minutes, and even a loan move to Everton failed to turn his fortunes around.
He now has under two years remaining on his contract but the Netherlands ace has played just 21 minutes so far this season with his last outing coming off the bench in the 1-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace on September 30.
He was left out of his country’s latest squad and instead got some match action under his belt in a recent behind-closed doors friendly with Hull City while his team-mates were away with their respective nations.

Now he has revealed his desperation to get away and begin a new challenge once the transfer window opens in January if he continues to be left out.
Van de Beek, who has made just two substitute appearances this term, was quoted by the Daily Mirror as said: “I am bouncing to play matches again.
“The manager is making different choices now. We have a big squad and I am not the only one knocking on the door. We'll see in January what happens.”
He then added: “I need to start playing games very soon – if not at Man United then at another club. I think I have to be ambitious.

However, Christian Eriksen’s recent injury setback could mean that Erik ten Hag calls on him for the upcoming hectic winter schedule.
Therefore those minutes he got under his belt against Liam Rosenior's Tigers could prove vital as he finally looks to make his mark at United – or catch the eye of another team.
