Coronation Street could be set for a UK soap’s first ever on-screen throuple, AI has claimed.
The long-running programme is no stranger to making TV history thanks to its topical and taboo storylines. As well as providing plenty of laughs, horror and drama, the soap has tackled many ground-breaking subjects.
For over 60 years, viewers have watched an array of storylines – from affairs and serial killers – play out on TV screens. And with the soap recently turning 63, it’s clearly showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Over in the soap at the moment, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) has been dating Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) for the past year. But that hasn’t stopped Asha her from getting close to newcomer Isla (Emily Dowson).
The pair met when Asha started her new job as a trainee paramedic, and Isla became her mentor. The duo have since spent a ton of time together – leaving Nina jealous and isolated.
At first, Asha wanted brother Aadi to hook up with Isla – but it turned out she was more interested in Asha. And in episodes last week, Isla hinted that she had feelings for Asha, as the pair flirted over dinner and drinks.
Now, it’s been claimed that Corrie could introduce the soap’s first ever throuple, in the form of Isla, Nina and Asha. Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see if a throuple can happen on Corrie with Isla, Asha and Nina.
The program responded: “It is possible that Isla, Asha, and Nina could become a throuple.” It explained: “Soap operas are always looking for new and exciting storylines to keep their viewers engaged.
“And a throuple relationship would certainly be a new and different take on the traditional relationship. Coronation Street has a history of breaking ground with its storylines, and a throuple relationship would be a way to do that again.”

The system then noted “several reasons” why Isla, Asha, and Nina could form a throuple. It said: “Isla and Asha have recently become close friends.
“There is also a chemistry between them that Nina has noticed. Nina has also expressed interest in exploring polyamory, and she could be open to a relationship with both Isla and Asha.”
Bard AI also claimed how a throuple storyline would be “a way to explore different relationship dynamics and challenge traditional ideas of monogamy.” The system also noted how it would potentially help bring in a new audience “who are interested in seeing representation of non-traditional relationships on television.” Bard AI all reckons the storyline would “generate buzz and publicity for the show.”
