The three wives of a bigamist ex-soldier – who married two unsuspecting women at the same time, leaving one of them to handle debt collectors when his duplicity came to light – have today been revealed for the first time.

Jason Hayter, 48, was discovered to have two wives simultaneously when his daughter from one of his marriages messaged his second wife on Facebook asking what her connection to him was.

The guardsman is facing up to seven years in jail after admitting bigamy this week by marrying Tracey Larcombe in 2010 and Sara Hayter in 2016.

Today, they have been pictured for the first time, along with his first wife, Teresa Fortune, who told MailOnline how Hayter also lived a ‘double life’ with her and how she and another woman confronted him together after learning he was cheating on them both.

Mrs Fortune, 53, also spoke of Hayter’s passion for ‘playing away’, calls from other women who would slam the phone down when she answered, and how he used two phones.

Tracey Larcombe was even left to handle debt collectors after he abandoned her and her family

Jason Hayter, 48, had five children with his two wives and lived with one family in Germany , where he was stationed with the Army, and visited the other in the UK

She even warned Mrs Larcombe about her ex’s philandering ways when she discovered they were an item – but her advice was rejected.

Still emotionally scarred by his mistreatment, she said: ‘When you’re younger you don’t tend to analyse why you fall for someone. He treated me well and I thought I was in love – just like all the other women he’s deceived.’

Mrs Fortune was living in Northern Ireland, where her then husband had been posted after switching from the 2nd Battalion The Coldstream Guards to join the Royal Military Police, when a soldier called Mel came to their home in around 2006.

‘She asked where Jason was and said he was supposed to be with her the night before,’ she recalled.

‘She said the times he’d disappeared from me had been to try and stop her from turning up at our house.

‘Mel told me Jason had been having a relationship with her at the same time he had asked me to join him in Ireland, so he had been living a double life then with her and me.

‘Mel knew about me and our daughter because he’d told her. But she thought he’d left me.’

She added: ‘We decided to set him up and I went to pick him up and she followed me in her car. It all kicked off because she got out of her car and hit him and told me ‘You’re welcome to him’.

‘All the way back home in the car he was begging me not to leave him and saying he was sorry. I had him back but two weeks later he went back to Mel.’

The couple, who also lived in Germany for a time, were eventually reunited but Mrs Fortune finally divorced Hayter on the grounds of adultery in 2009.

They met in 1993, when she was 22 and he was 18, and married the following year before honeymooning in Jersey.

‘Within months of getting married there were phone calls to the house from other women who would hang up when I answered, which I used to ask him about,’ said Mrs Fortune, who was working in admin for the Ministry of Defence at the time.

In her statement, Mrs Hayter (pictured) added she thought her husband’s absences were due to training as a paramedic for the London Ambulance Service

Neither woman knew about the other, and Hayter explained his lengthy absences on being away with the Army

‘He’d say they were probably from work and had meant to call him on his work phone.

‘He was a convincing liar, always had an answer, and always made me think I was the one who’d got it wrong.

‘Why did I stay? Well, I was in married quarters in Germany with a new baby and post-natal depression because I felt isolated.

‘Jason was happy to let me get on with being a mum. Work and playing away were his priorities.’

She added: ‘He always had two phones. which he said he needed for work, and would often disappear just saying it was work-related.’

When she discovered her estranged husband was dating Mrs Larcombe, she contacted her on Facebook to warn ‘what he was like’. According to her ‘calculations’, Hayter was still seeing ‘Mel’ when his new fiancée was pregnant with their son.

‘I messaged her to say he wasn’t worth it and he’d end up treating her the same way,’ said Mrs Fortune, who has since remarried.

‘She blocked me and said I was just a jealous ex-wife, even told me to leave her alone.’

She added: ‘Tracey contacted me in about 2014 and told me she wished she had listened to me. She said he had just walked out on her and the two kids.’

The court was told how Mrs Larcombe was even left to handle debt collectors after he abandoned her and her family.

Describing how she was ‘not surprised he’s been serially unfaithful’, Mrs Fortune said: ‘That who he is. But I am surprised that he’s gone down the bigamy route thinking he would never get caught. I didn’t think he was that stupid but obviously he is.’

Hayter, who was posted to Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan during his 24-year military career, admitted bigamy at Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday. He will be sentenced at the city’s crown court next month.

During the hearing, it emerged he was caught when one of his daughters sent a message to his second wife on Facebook asking who she was.

Neither wife knew about the other as he blamed his absences on being away with the Army, training with the RMP or on mental health problems.

Hayter, who had five children with the two women, turned up at court in a wheelchair. The Bench was told the defendant, who now lives in Frinton-on-Sea, Essex, was diagnosed with PTSD and suffered a stroke last year.

Prosecutor Sally Harris said the impact of his offence was ‘very significant’ and was aggravated by the length of time it covered and the involvement of children.

Neither victim wanted to comment when approached at their homes in Suffolk.

But Mrs Larcombe said in a statement read in court: ‘I never thought anything was wrong. Him being away was normal.’

In her statement, Mrs Hayter added she thought her husband’s absences were due to training as a paramedic for the London Ambulance Service.

She said: ‘I believe everything he has said to me is a lie. I don’t think he knows the truth anymore.’

Hayter refused to comment.
