Meghan Markle painted as a Hollywood bimbo but its an unfair attack

Meghan Markle’s been painted to be a Hollywood bimbo, Carla Speight claims.

The PR expert has shut down the “unfair” claims directed towards the Duchess of Sussex who established a thriving career before ever meeting Prince Harry.

Carla has suggested she can see why Harry and Meghan’s relationship works due to their very similar interests.

She explained: “I had a look into what Meghan did before she met Harry. She was an ambassador for women in the United Nations (UN).

“[Meghan] did a lot of humanitarian work and you can see why Harry liked her. They have similar interests.

“She has been painted to be a Hollywood bimbo before she met him and she isn’t. I do think it’s unfair.”

Meghan’s history of charity work is well-known and was an active supporter of many organisations before she married Prince Harry.

Her work included being a World Vision ambassador in 2016 and she visited women in the urban slums of Mumbai to empower them to become businesswomen with the Myna Mahila Foundation.

“Everyone in the public eye is fair game to criticism and I’m with that,” Carla explained. “You can’t put yourself out there and expect people to be lovely all the time. If you look at the history of the royal family, Diana went through the same thing when she got divorced.”

Outside of her charity work, Meghan worked as a “briefcase model” between 2006 and 2007 on the US version of Deal or No Deal.

Speaking on her Archetype podcast last year she blasted the role for reducing her to a “bimbo”.

Meghan said: “I didn’t like feeling forced to be all looks… and little substance.

“And that’s how it felt for me at the time being reduced to this specific archetype – the word bimbo.”

The Duchess added: “We were even given spray-tan vouchers each week because there was a very cookie cutter idea of precisely what we should look like. It was solely about our beauty.”

Meghan added that there was a woman behind the scenes who told her to “suck it in”.

Following her departure from the quiz show the Duchess played Rachel Zane on Suits.
