If you’re not quite ready to let go of holiday vibes and embrace Autumn, a refreshing fruity tipple in the form of Pepsi’s ‘best ever’ summer flavour might help.

Pepsi MAX Mango – a tropical take on the popular original variety launched earlier this month and was only on sale at Tesco, but it’s now available around the UK.

Pepsi MAX Mango isn’t the only fruit-inspired edition available for fizzy drink fans – other options include the popular cherry flavour, as well as lime and raspberry.

The brand announced the arrival of their latest drink via a pop-up event in London train stations like Kings Cross and Waterloo.

Cola giant Pepsi has decided to delve into fruitier territory – and the new release has even been touted as ‘the brand’s best ever’ summer flavour yet

At the event in early September, hundreds of commuters had the chance to sample the funky flavour.

The Pepsi advertising campaign has been backed by popular British influencers like GKBarry, famed for her podcast and YouTuber Nella Rose.

Pepsi’s marketing manager Dagmar Emery said: ‘Pepsi MAX Mango is the latest move in our commitment to delivering bold and delicious flavours that our consumers love.

‘Last summer’s Taste Challenge saw 70% of participants across the UK prefer the refreshing taste of Pepsi MAX to the nation’s biggest selling full-sugar cola in a blind taste test.

‘And now we’ve given the nation’s preferred taste an irresistible mango twist so you can get a taste of summer, even in those bleak winter months.

‘We’re thrilled to say hello to Mango in style, giving commuters one last taste of summer and a sunny new drink to keep Seasonal Denial Syndrome at bay.’

Pepsi consumers were quick to discuss the new flavour on Twitter, with many keen on the rogue flavour choice.

One user said lauded the drink retailer but noted that certain flavours were hard to locate in UK stores: ‘Pepsi Max continues to build up their absolutely elite flavours roster: cherry, raspberry, lime, now mango. Though lemon remains elusive in UK’.

Tweets show an overwhelmingly positive reaction to Pepsi’s latest release: the Pepsi MAX Mango drink – although the new release was met with disgust by some

While alcohol was on another user’s mind – with her urging other customers to try ‘Fireball Whisky Liqueur with Pepsi Max Mango’.

And another user joked that he was ‘waiting for the agbalumo flavour’ – a forest fruit tree commonly found throughout tropical Africa.

More hailed it as a tasty treat – one user said: ‘Mango Pepsi MAX I love you so much’.

However, not everyone was so excited by the prospect. One user lambasted the cola giant’s latest concoction for carrying ‘a bit of a fake flavour aftertaste’.

And an Australian user wondered how Pepsi’s taste team decide on flavours, branding the mango fizzy drink as ‘gross.’

Brits across the country can buy 24 cans of Pepsi MAX Mango for £9 at Iceland – or buy a 2 litre bottle for £2.25 at Sainsbury’s – but other retailers including Ocado also stock the new flavour.
