Golden Bounty worth £25k up for grabs Celebrations tubs
Bargain Hunt star Danny Sebastian has recently landed a new project away from the BBC antique show. The self-taught expert, who will be a familiar face to viewers, went from being a market trader to an antique dealer on Bargain Hunt.
During his 20-year career, Danny has valued some weird and wonderful items, and speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Danny opened up about some of his highlights while filming.
When discussing some of the most “unusual” items he has ever valued, Danny began: “I have seen a lot of precious items…Joe Colombo chairs, these are genuine items…Rolex watches, diamond rings, so I have had a lot of quality pass through my hands that is for sure.
“Unusual, well I have a chair which was in one of Alfred Hitchcock’s films, I mean that was quite unusual to come by.”
Turning his attention to Bargain Hunt and the items he finds while filming, Danny admitted he is “still waiting for that big hit” when he addressed some of his biggest wins and losses.

“I have bought many items…I mean nowadays what with the mobile phone it is very difficult to find a bargain or something that is going to make you a great deal of money,” the expert explained.
“But in the past, there have been hundreds of things that I have made hundreds of pounds on. I found a very nice violin that I didn’t have a clue what it was but it was very decorative and it was very well made.
“Anyway, I bought it for about £70 and I sold it for about £3,000 and that was a good hit.”
Danny went on to detail how he has also found great value in watches as he has picked up an Omega watch for £100 which he went on to sell for £1,000.
“I have done quite well and bought many items that I have made a grand profit on, but the big find I am still waiting for, to be honest.”

Speaking about some of his losses, Danny said he once bought a decorative shelf for £80 and after expecting it to make a few hundred pounds, he said it only made £20.
“When it comes to Bargain Hunt it all comes down to what auction you go to and who is at the auction [regarding] whether or not you make a great profit or loss, to be honest,” he added.
Aside from filming Bargain Hunt, Danny recently teamed up with Mars Wigley’s UK Celebrations as part of their Christmas campaign.
The expert has valued some unusual items in his time, but admittedly, he has never held a gold Bounty bar worth a staggering £25,000.
Mars says its festive campaign is intended to boost the appeal of the “divisive” Bounty bar.
The chocolate brand has hidden Bounty blue tickets in tubs of Celebrations at supermarket Tesco and has also included other cash prizes of up to £10,000.
Shoppers have a chance to find winning tickets in their tubs of Celebrations available from stores up and down the country. Every ticket-finder is a winner with 500,000 opportunities to win.
When speaking about why he was so excited to be involved in the campaign, Danny said: “I really love Bounty so that was a big factor and of course, as well as that, I am on Bargain Hunt so when it comes to gold jewellery, furniture, antiques and things of great value, then I am the man to get in to appraise it.
Kerry Cavanaugh, Mars Wrigley’s UK, Business Unit Director, added: “Every year, we love seeing the debate rage over our beloved Celebrations tubs. This year, our much-loved Bounty bar has gone Gold!
“The Bounty bar is worth £25,000, which surely is enough to make even the most dedicated Bounty-haters reconsider their stance.
“We’re excited to hear the public’s verdict – would you treasure, or would you trade? Bring Home The Bounty!”
Bargain Hunt is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
