Brendan told us: “Show me a series where there hasn’t been a little bit of love magic [between the contestants].
“Generally, every year something happens between a dancer and a contestant.”

And looking ahead to this series, he continued: “I’d be very surprised if there wasn’t something going on somewhere with somebody because that’s human nature.
“We love to love and in that particular environment, where you are hands on with each other 24/7, there’s a little of excitement between two people.”
The "curse" is a phenomenon that hits celebrities and their dance partners during their time on Strictly.
Due to the harsh schedules, sexy dance moves and close quarters with their partners, their off-screen romances sometimes suffer as a result.

Strictly became regarded as "cursed" after a series of very public break-ups from show participants – and ever since, more and more fan favourites have succumbed.
Over the years the show has seen multiple splits, including Stacey Dooley who dumped her boyfriend for Kevin Clifton, Seann Walsh who famously cheated with Katya Jones and Ben Cohen who ended up dating his pro partner Kristina Rihanoff after splitting from his wife.
Brendan himself even split with pro dancer Camilla Dallerup back in the first series of 2004 after being partnered up with Natasha Kaplinsky.
The dancer, who was on the show since it first started, left the show in 2018 after the BBC decided not to renew his contract.
